Club Purpose and What We Offer

The Walkerton Gun Club (a.k.a South Bruce Game & Fish Protective Association) was created on April 28, 1943

Objects of Incorporation

1. To promote interest in the propagation and conservation of game in the Province of Ontario.
2. To assist in the suppression of the illegal taking of game.
3. To promote and maintain the highest possible degree of sportsmanship among hunters in general, and the member of the Association in particular, and to encourage the taking of game in sportsmanlike manner.
4. To assist in educating the general public as to the value of our game and, not only from the viewpoint of the health and pleasure to be derived from hunting, but also as to the very real value financially, to the Province of our game.
5. To encourage entrance of boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 16 into the Association. To educate them in sportsmanlike manner, foster in them a love of nature and impress on them the desirability of conserving our forests and game.
6. To provide a facility of common interest in hunting and target shooting. Must be at least 12 years of age to use firearms.
7. To promote safety first in shooting sports.
8. To encourage participation and safety in shooting sports.

Clubhouse Facilities

Clubhouse facilities include a heated meeting room and new kitchen, as well as a handicapped accessible washroom.

History of the Walkerton Gun Club

The Walkerton Gun Club was conceived on April 28, 1943 at the first meeting in the Walkerton Town Hall
The Walkerton Gun Club has been heavily involved in fisheries and reforestation programs over the years
The clubhouse itself was constructed in September of 1954
The Walkerton Gun Club was incorporated in April of 1985
